About the symbol:

Vegvísir is known as Iceland's compass. Loosely translated, it means “Direction pointer”. However, it can also have spiritual significance, as a compass of the soul - so that Vegvisir bearers never lose sight of their lifestyle or vision of their purpose.

Although there are arguments that symbols such as Aegishjalmur and Vegvisir are Icelandic rather than Norse in nature, both symbols are described in Norse mythology (Poetic Edda).
